CHURCHES

Partnering with churches in the areas of prayer, discipleship, leadership, participating in mission-minded activities and wherever else we determine a need may exist within the church community.

it takes all of us.

KEY COMPONENTS OF COMMUNITY

HEALTH

Help to ensure that individuals (especially the elderly, low-income individuals/families, Vets, etc.) seeking or have been identified as needing medical care are connected with the appropriate medical/dental facilities to receive treatment, whether it is physical, mental, psychological or emotional wellness.

PEOPLE

ACE cares about People and people from all walks of life, all ages, all races, etc. are the main and most critical component that makes up community, and People effect and affect all of the other components identified on this wheel-hub.

SCHOOLS

ACE will play a vital role in schools (this could include daycares, colleges, trade schools, or any educational institutution or framework) by assisting the exisitng governing bodies to ensure that educational environments (physical and psychological) are safe, healthy, and productive in a positive manner that is conducive to the highest learning possible to take place, while advocating for teacher/parent/student accountability and respect. ACE also seeks to establish scholorships to recognize outstanding efforts and outcomes.

FOOD

Assisting in the community where possible to feed those less fortunate. Whether it be participating in soup kitchens, food drives, establishing or contributing to food pantries and mitigating special individual needs for food. ACE may also hold its own food initiatives in the community.

SAFETY

Partnering with law enforcement, including correctional facilities to help ensure safety in the communities. ACE will also be an advocate for the people who have been wronged by law enforcement and the judicial system by identifying gaps and non-compliance with the law and even advocate for antiquated illogical laws to be changed or abolished altogether. We believe that building partnerships with law enforcement leadership is paramount in bridging the community with them and establishing relationships between law enforcment and the people is critical in revigorating public trust and respect for the law. Ace also seeks to partner with organizations that participate in rehabiliatation efforts of the incarcerated, whether it be speaking engagements, discipleship, or wherever we believe we can make a positive impact in their lives and hearts.

RECREATION

ACE will partner with the appropriate organizations, schools and government entities to ensure that communities (especially the youth) have or have access to recreational centers & activities, parks, playgrounds, etc. to help foster physically and mentally healthy indivduals, families and communities. We want to ensure that every type of community has access to modern and equipped recreational facilities.

BUSINESSES

ACE wants to recognize businesses that have moral and fair business practices and who value their customers, in addition to having a great product or service; especially Christian businesses that take care of their employees, observe the Sunday day of rest and go above and beyond the call of duty.

GOVERNMENT

We believe that establising key and healthy partnerships with local, state and federal government agencies in any aspect will help to effect the enhancement of community in many integral areas - key entities may include: State Attorney General, Economic Development, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, Texas General Land Office, Texas Workforce Commission, Parks & Recreation and any other government component that would be needed to effect change or ensure other agencies, companies etc. adhere to established policy, rules regulations, and laws that has or potentially could disenfranchise people and have a negative impact on community as a whole.

HOUSING

ACE wants to assist individuals, families Vets, etc. in the community who need assistance with federal/state rental programs or home ownership programs, as well as disabled individuals who are experiencing issues with their landlord complying with requests for reasonable accomodation, income affordability determinations, and also those who may be experiencing an eviction emergency or need rental assistance.

What is service to the community?

Community service is typically volunteer work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. It is often done near the area where you live, so your own community reaps the benefits of your work.

Community service can help any group of people in need: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, English language learners, and more. It can also help animals, such as those at a shelter, and it can be used to improve places, such as a local park, historic building, or scenic area as well. Community service is often organized through a local group, such as a place of worship, school, or non-profit organization. You can also start your own community service projects.

How can you be an Advocate in the community?

There are hundreds of ways to participate in community service, depending on your skills and interests. Some common community service examples include:

  • Helping low-income individuals: Providing food, collecting used clothes to be donated, making first aid/survival kits for the homeless.

  • Working with senior citizens: Visiting residents of a retirement center, delivering meals to senior citizens, driving them to appointments, and assisting them in other ways which could involve advocating for their rights when they have been mistreated, or wrongfully discriminated against because of their age, disability, etc.

  • Working with schoolchildren: Tutoring children after school, collecting school supplies to donate, planting a school garden.

  • Improving the environment: Holding a recycling contest, planting trees, creating a new trail at a nature center.

  • Identifying areas of improvement in the community and presenting new ideas/concepts to community leaders to affect change in any facet of the community.
